Most individuals do not like to acknowledge it, but marriage is difficult. It’s quite difficult.
Spending your entire life with someone who is not like you is not easy. It goes through ups and downs, highs and lows.

There is conflict, followed by agreement. There is breaking and then there is making.
Marriage is tremendously difficult, but when done well, it is incredibly lovely. This is why marriage prayers are important.
One of the most gratifying things you can do for your marriage is to pray for it.

When you make prayer a priority rather than a choice, dealing with many situations becomes much simpler.
I’ve seen firsthand how prayer strengthens a marriage. I find insight when I pray for my marriage. I am at ease. My confidence in God has become stronger.
I am humbled by the place of prayer. It enables me to let go and allow God. It allows me to breathe new life into my marriage.
Our marriages are under attack. The adversary who seeks to steal, murder, and destroy wishes to consume your marriage.
Prayer is your most potent weapon.
Physical techniques cannot be used to fight a spiritual struggle.
It’s interesting how much easier it is to argue with your spouse than to ‘argue’ with God in the realm of prayer.
Or how much easier it is to ‘complain’ to a friend or family member than it is to ‘complain’ to God. Or how it is all too easy to be concerned about situations rather than pray about them.
What if we transformed all of our disagreements, complaints, and concerns into prayers?
I’ll encourage us to pray these prayers since they are effective. Prayers have an impact.
Pray from a position of trust rather than fear. If you are single, pray for your future marriage as well.
Begin by asking God to forgive you for all of your sins, then pray fervently.
1. Father, thank you for the wife you have given me.
“Everything good and perfect comes down to us from God our Father, who made all the lights in the skies.” (James 1: 17, New Living Translation)
“Be grateful in all situations, for this is God’s wish for you who are Christ’s followers.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18 (New Living Translation)
2. Father, enable me to forgive and tolerate my husband/wife.
“Allow for one another’s flaws and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember that because the Lord forgave you, you must forgive others.” (NLT: Colossians 3:13)
3. Teach me to love my husband unconditionally, Father.
“Love is compassionate and patient. Love is not envious, arrogant, pompous, or harsh. It does not insist on its own method. It is not irritated and retains no record of wrongdoing. It does not revel in injustice, but rejoices when the truth triumphs. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and perseveres in the face of adversity.” 1 Corinthians 13:4–7
4. Father, may my spouse carry out your life plan for him/her.
“I knew you before you were born from your mother’s womb.
I chose you before you were born.
and chose you to be my prophet to the nations.” (Jeremiah 1:5, New Living Translation)
5. May my spouse and I seek you first and foremost.
“Seek God’s Kingdom above everything things, and live righteously, and he will provide you with all you need.” (NLT) Matthew 6:33
“However, my family and I shall serve the LORD.” 24:15 (Joshua)
6. Teach us to rely on your strength in every tough situation we encounter together.
“I also pray that you may see the enormous majesty of God’s power for those of us who believe.” (NLT: Ephesians 1:19)
7. Lord, help me to control my tongue and avoid saying unpleasant things to my husband.
“Let your speech constantly be courteous and seasoned with salt, so that you will know how to respond to each individual.” (ESV) Colossians 4:6
8. Please enable my spouse and me to resist any temptation that comes our way.
“Your temptations are no different from those that others face. And God is trustworthy. He will not allow the temptation to become too much for you. He will provide you a way out when you are tempted so that you may persevere.” 1 Corinthians 10:13 (New Living Translation)
9. Lord, keep my husband and me away from all wicked company.
“Do not be misled: “Bad company destroys excellent morality.” ESV (1 Corinthians 15:33)
10. We pray for your peace to rule in our home.
“Then you will know God’s peace, which is beyond our comprehension. As you live in Christ Jesus, His peace will guard your hearts and minds.” (NLT) Philippians 4:7
